Open TheGHOST.exe and create a new project. After it finishes loading, the iso in the"discs" folder should be prepped. You can also modify other settings if you know what you are doing. Now select your game (In this case GH3 Wii) and go in the drop-down menu and select Compact Iso, then click set. Drag the iso to the "iso" field and the "temp" folder to the "working folder" field. Put the iso in the discs folder and run WiiIsoTool. If you don't hear any noises or only the guitar solo, write in the comments for help. If the pc says if you want to use ffdshow, say yes, always. Then click yes and then other sounds will play. Now click install WavDest Filter, and Install XBADPCM codec (its a precaution in case the codecs don't work) now click Begin Tests!. Now go on TheGHOST>tool>TheGHOSTAudioTool.exe and run it.

In this guide we'll be using only temp, discs and tool. In the "tool" folder you should have TheGHOST.exe, WiiIsoTool.exe, TheGHOSTAudioTool.exe and a bunch of other files. Note: to download songs from Frets On Fire you need an account.Īfter you unzipped TheGHOST.rar, you should have 4 folders: discs, temp, tool and songs. The OG guide says that you can get the songs from the Frets On Fire Wiki, but I tried downloading some songs from Chorus (Clone Hero repo) and only one worked. There's something that I need to say before we start.

Most of the tutorials on the internet are outdated with many dead links, so i'll try to quickly explain this and give yall the new links. Songs can also be buggy, but i tried myself and I didn't encounter any errors. The songs may not work, however I tried playing a few songs from my Wii and they worked fine. I ALSO DIDN'T WRITE THIS GUIDE, I RECOVERED IT, SO I'M NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGE TO YOUR SYSTEM. I'm new to this forum, and I wanted to share a guide on how to modify your copy of GH3\GHA Wii to add custom songs.īasically, we're going to remove the in-game songs and replace it with the custom ones.ĭISCLAIMER: THIS GUIDE IS MEANT ONLY FOR PLAYING THE GAME ON REAL HARDWARE, IF YOU WANT TO PLAY CUSTOM SONGS ON PC USE CLONE HERO. I still keep up with the latest accomplishments when I can.Hi there. In 2018 I was unemployed for a few months and I'd make watching Acai's stream whenever he was live part of my routine. The top players for this game are immensely talented, so far beyond the competitive meta for GH/RB in the late 2000s and early 2010s. Watching videos and streamers for CH is insanely fun though. I guess I'm just not motivated to play GH as much anymore. I have a bunch of wireless 360 guitars and a 360 to PC controller adapter, but I still need to check if the lag from that is tolerable or if I have to go out and buy a Wiitar and an adapter. I mean, I did set it up and made sure it runs fine a couple weeks ago (it does), but I still haven't bothered to set up songs and guitars. Now, to beat Cliffs of Dover on Expert.įor some reason Clone Hero would crash on my gaming laptop all the time when I tried to play it, so it was one of the main motivators to me getting a proper gaming desktop a few months ago and.I still haven't bothered to see if I can set it up. So yeah, if you're interested in revisiting an awesome time in music gaming here's a video below explaining the whole thing. Who knew these things would become valuable later on? Turns out the old 360 controller is the most valuable since it is plug and play, but Wii controllers are next best so long as you buy an adapter. Of course, I am now on the hunt for an actual guitar controller. It took my brain a while to remember how to play just using a controller, but I'm already close to where I was as a teen playing everything on Expert. So here I am, replaying my favorite GH tracks on a simple controller and having a blast. Well, it's basically Guitar Hero that you can download for PC, Mac, or Android and you can put whatever songs you want into it and play them simple and clean. And with this new spark I thought first I might try emulation only to discover something even better called Clone Hero. While billed as an action game, it very much is a rhythm game hidden beneath. Yet all fads are destined to die and the constant need for new plastic peripherals would spell the end for the GH fad, plus rock musing going out of vogue by this time.įunny enough, all this talk about Sekiro got me thinking about finding a way to get back into Guitar Hero. And we had the stupid drum set that came with GH: World Tour.

We mastered that shit, even beat Through the Fire and Flames on Expert. I played the absolute crap out of the game growing up with my brothers.
